Spring Grove Arboretum Walk

Spring Grove Arboretum Walk

The annual Spring Grove Arboretum Walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.  Sponsored by the Friends of the Cemetery, the self-guided family walking tour will showcase a number of the 81 different species of the more than 600 trees found on the grounds of Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum.  Spring Grove is the first and only arboretum in Medina County and is located at 775 East Washington Street in beautiful, historic Medina, Ohio.  Join us for a relaxing fall walk that will include tree information and professional advice along with giveaways and a scavenger hunt for the kids!  Attendees should dress for the weather -- the event will be held rain or shine.  There is easy access for strollers, wagons and wheelchairs.  Starting point for the walk will be in front of the Mears Building where there is ample parking (entrance off Rte. 18).  Maps will be provided.

Spring Grove is a fine example of an “urban forest” -- a forest or a collection of trees that grow within a city, town or a suburb.
The arboretum is a collaboration between Friends of the Cemetery and the City of Medina.

The Friends of the Cemetery’s mission includes the historic preservation, beautification and maintenance of Spring Grove Cemetery and Old Town Graveyard.  For additional information about Friends of the Cemetery, visit www.friendsofmedinacemetery.org or call the Friends of the Cemetery office, at 330-725-8861, Ext. 1055.
